Mike Coupe
Michael Andrew Coupe is a British businessman who was ceo of J Sainsbury plc, the parent company of supermarket chain Sainsbury's, from July 2014 to the end of May 2020.
As ceo of Sansbury's, the parent company of Britain's second-largest supermarket chain and CEO of FTSE100, Mike has plenty of lessons from the front line of management. From the future of retail and the digital transformation of the industry to building world-class teams and making difficult decisions. He also led the acquisition of the company Argos, which is widely considered a success story, but also the attempt to merge with Ada, which was prevented by the authorities with significant effects on the business. Mike also looks at the environmental and social responsibility business model and how to balance the demands of shareholders, employees, and customers.
