Kristian Backman

Kristian Backman is one of the few Finnish professional magicians who performs both in Finland and abroad. He has been awarded several times at the World Magic Championships, won the prize for the biggest YouTube event in the Nordic countries, is writing a book that will be published in 2024 and runs the biggest regular magic club in Europe in Helsinki.

Stage show

This is suitable for all kinds of occasions, for both large and small groups. The show is not about pulling rabbits out of hats, but about performing magic in a unique, modern style combining interaction, humour, mentalism and magic, so it will leave no one cold! For the show, I've selected the most impressive wonders I've come across in 20 years.  

The performance can also be combined with close-up magic, where Kristian will first perform on stage, then he will move around the tables performing magic at close range! The duration of the show is about 30 minutes or as you wish.

Close-up magic

In a close-up magic show, a magician can walk around the audience, performing magic tricks right in front of their eyes with everyday objects such as playing cards or coins. The idea behind this kind of performance is that the magic is tangible. Humour and situational comedy are very much at the heart of the performances and close-up magic unleashes the atmosphere in all situations! Depending on table arrangements, etc., you can perform close-up magic for up to 60 people per hour.

Close-up magic is also available for a slightly larger audience at one time. In practice, this means that the audience sits around the magician's table, giving everyone a good view of the performance. The duration of the show is adjustable.

A magical presenter

A magical presenter entertains and keeps the strings tight.

The plot and the magic are a perfect match for both casual and more formal occasions!

The emcee is a very essential part of a successful event and is key to the impact and positive memory of the event. As well as keeping the event moving along smoothly, the role of the host is to entertain people, and magic is a great way to do that.

The planning of the event starts with a meeting to discuss the nature and objectives of the event, after which I work on the script. If you wish, the plots can be combined with magic tailored specifically to your company.

The magic also works as a separate programme, so in addition to the plot, I will perform a magic show for everyone in between and go around the crowd performing close-up magic. Click here to watch the video.

Kristian has been hosting a number of events since the beginning, from brush-ups to large, thousand-person galas. Kristian also produces and hosts Europe's largest regular magic club in Helsinki - the Helsinki Magic Show.

Magic workshop

The Magic Workshop is a package of a few hours by award-winning magician Kristian Backman, where everyone can marvel at magic, as well as learn the tricks themselves! This has been a hit at numerous corporate magic days.  

The day starts off with Kristian teaching everyone a few very cool, but simple tricks. Kristian will bring the necessary equipment on site, which will also be a souvenir for everyone. Kristian also has a book coming out, published by Readme, about the magic tricks he will be teaching in 2024. In addition to the tricks, participants will learn about performing skills, managing performance anxiety and other useful everyday skills that Kristian has learned over the years! After the class, Kristian himself will perform some award-winning magic. The duration of the magic workshop can be adapted according to your wishes.
